Words: Mr Teo Ser Luck, Y U NO SEE DEVIL?

Teo Ser Luck defends underage prostitute: She is still young and deserves to be protected.

Y U NO SEE DEVIL?

His views were supported by another fellow MP Halimah Yacob who opined her future should be safe-guarded:

“Everyone deserves a chance to repent. The most important thing is, she should receive proper counseling in the future to prevent her from prostituting herself again.”Temasek Times.

I will start by saying that I might not be right. I cannot disagree with that statement entirely, everyone deserves a right to repent, though, everyone deserves the right to see “justice” and “fairness” served on a silver platter to those whom CLEARLY demonstrate to the society, their willingness to push others into fire and brimstone as long as they know they will not fall in themselves. This is ludicrous , so now they are arguing for a girl who has chosen to sell her body for quick cash even when she knew full well she was breaking the law by soliciting because she is under 18? Really?  Letting her go scott-free will send a clear message to her and to the society at large.

If you are a SYT(Sweet Young Thing), perhaps in need of money for your Gucci Bags and Jimmy Choo’s  sell yourself. Really, the law will not fault you for it, because you are minor, plus you are a veblen good just like all the things you wish to buy, the higher  your price, the more men want to get between your legs.

I believe that Mr Subhas Anandan is right in requesting for the girl’s identity to be out in the open, she made the decision, with a clear mind, HELL, her pimp even paid her 50 Dollars for a “test drive”. Look at it this way, she is more expensive to test drive than a Ferrari at a showroom, which you could test drive with just a little interest and looking like you actually have money. If you wanted her for an hour, it is 500 dollars, hell, she earns more per hour than some law consultants.

What I am trying to say is, if you look at it in an economic sense, a law degree in Singapore would set you back, about 30,000SGD (approx ~ 20,000USD), by allowing her to go scott-free, the policy-makes, MPs, and the Judicial System itself, would be unconsciously promoting,

START EARLY! BE A PROSTITUTE

  • THE LEGAL GREY AREA SHIELDS YOU FROM INCARCERATION IF YOU’RE UNDER 18!
  • CONDOMS SHIELD YOU FROM BABIES AND STDS!
  • PLUS YOU EARN MORE PER HOUR THAN SOMEONE WHO SPENDS 30,000 DOLLARS ON THEIR DEGREE IN LAW!
  • JUST LIE THERE AND SPREAD IT BABY!
  • Other Benefits include:
    •  Starting work Earlier!
    • A job that pays you while you’re in BED!

Personally, I feel that this is not something that you would want to put across to the public, even though she “deserves” a second chance, due to her “young and tender age” and her “impressionable teenage mind”. I believe that she represents two poisons of the society, Greed and Decadence. If she had been less greedy, she would not have the motivations to work herself to the point of 4 clients in a SINGLE DAYIf she had less decadence she would do something else, I mean waiting tables for money is still more respectable and less of a thorn in societies flesh. When I was in Integrated programme in Junior College I waited tables at Shangri-La, earning about 50 bucks a night for my efforts, It was tiring but when I collected my payslip I would feel like that money was worth it. I had deserved every single cent of it.

In essence, I urge the people up there in the position of power, to reconsider their stance, and I hope that Mr Subhas Anandan manages to convince the courts!

No not him, YOU!
